ABOUT ME

Working as an artist from my home studio in Hornsea, the county of Yorkshire provides a constant source of inspiration to me. 

The land, sea and skies hold my fascination as light, weather and seasons influence the atmosphere, colour and textures of the surroundings I feel connected to.  Opportunity to travel provides inspiration from further afield and I love the different emotional responses each place evokes. 

My love for the natural world draws me to the wide open spaces of land and sea. Seeking to describe the powerful beauty of the world around me, intrigued by the effect of light, seasons and weather upon it. My paintings reveal and capture the connection I feel to places and the surroundings that are close to my heart. 

My aim with each piece is not to describe exactly the places that feel special to me, but to capture the essence of a memory.
